During the trip, we visited Kabul, Bamyan, Band-e Amir, Panjshir, Kandahar, and Helmand, including the historic Bost Citadel, as well as many other attractions and interesting places across the country. It was an amazing way to experience Afghanistan beyond the usual tourist spots. Such a amazing company Just finished a 4-day trip around Afghanistan with Afghanistan On Tour. We did Kabul, Bamyan, Band-e Amir and Panjshir, and honestly I had a great time. Farzad was our guide and his English was crazy good lol. At first I was actually like, is this dude American? 😂 He was super easy to hang with and knew the places really well. Fayaz, the owner, also joined us for part of the trip, which was pretty cool. Both guys made the whole trip feel really easy and comfortable. I’d definitely recommend Afghanistan On Tour if you’re looking to travel around Afghanistan with a local guide. I felt safe the whole time and had a really good experience. A Trip We’ll Never Forget We came to Afghanistan as a couple for a 12-day trip in May 2026, and honestly, it was a wonderful experience. From the beginning, everything was organized very well, and we felt safe throughout the whole journey. Fayaz was our guide, and he was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable about the country. He was always there when we needed help and made sure everything went smoothly. What we enjoyed most was being able to see Afghanistan at our own pace and experience the country beyond what you normally see online. The trip felt comfortable, well organized, and personal. Amazing Afghanistan I would like to share our recent amazing experience from traveling in Afghanistan. We are a couple from the Czech Republic, and we had been planning to visit Afghanistan for many years, ever since our trip to the Khyber Pass from the Pakistani side 25 years ago. In recent years, the opportunity to visit the country relatively safely has opened up. Although we had read a lot online and watched many videos on YouTube, we didn’t really know what to expect from the country. That’s why we decided to use the services of a local guide with a driver and a car. The entire trip went exactly as agreed, and we felt very safe there. Of course, except for the road traffic, which is quite wild even by the standards of these countries. The natural scenery, as if from another world, combined with a rich history, is truly unmatched. The people, just like in other “-stan” countries and in Muslim countries in general, are very hospitable and kind. We were under the constant supervision of the Taliban, but this is mainly for security reasons. They are trying to normalize the country’s image to the outside world, and tourists are welcome as long as they follow the rules. Our guide Fayaz (Afghanistan on Tour) made our visit to Afghanistan a truly exceptional experience with his consistently good mood, reliability, sense of responsibility, and extensive knowledge of history. For those who don’t want to deal with arranging permits and other administrative matters on their own, we can highly recommend Fayaz. Our 12-day itinerary included Kabul, the Mahipar Pass, Jalalabad, Bamyan, the Band-e Amir lakes, Kandahar, Herat, a flight to Mazar-e Sharif, and a return to Kabul via the Salang Pass.
